MIG BANK moves its head office to Lausanne

In order to meet its growing business and personnel development needs, MIG BANK has decided to move its head office to Lausanne, the capital of the Canton de Vaud.

Founded in Neuchatel in 2003 and the first Swiss-based FX broker to obtain a banking licence in 2009, MIG BANK has decided to relocate its head office to Lausanne in the spring of 2012 in order to meet its growing business and personnel development needs. The banking licence accelerated its development and growing success, leading to a doubling of its workforce between 2007 and 2010. The company employs currently about 130 people. In February 2011, MIG BANK was granted a broker dealer licence by the FINMA, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority.

"To support our growth and continue expanding our business into securities trading, we will need to hire between 30 and 40 additional employees within the next 8-12 months", said Hisham Mansour, CEO of MIG BANK.

This rapid development obliged MIG BANK to seek larger premises. Searches for office space large enough to accommodate at least 200 people in an appropriate location in the Canton of Neuchâtel were unfortunately unsuccessful. MIG BANK therefore started looking for alternatives and found a suitable site of 3’800 m2 in Lausanne which will be available in the spring of next year. The premises are ideally located close to the station in the building of the former Post office at the avenue d’Ouchy 4-6.

"We are certainly sad to be leaving Neuchâtel", adds Hisham Mansour. "We have enjoyed excellent working relations with the cantonal authorities here and I would like to thank them most sincerely for all their assistance over the last eight years. Now, however, we are embarking on a new chapter in the history of MIG BANK. We must keep pace with our development. Our new and larger premises in Lausanne should facilitate the hire of new employees with the specific professional expertise we need to develop our banking and financial services business over the coming year".

The transfer of MIG BANK's head office will be completed in the spring of 2012, once the new premises will have been refurbished. Initial responses from current MIG BANK employees in Neuchâtel indicate that the majority of the current personnel will remain with the company after the move to Lausanne.
